Where will the gym be located? We will be located on Old Vail Road, just west of Houghton Rd. Although our opening day has been pushed back to next year (anticipated
fall of 2007), we are fortunate now to be able to design and build our
own facility, specifically designed to our operational needs!
How much climbing will be available? Our
new building design still includes more than 10,000 square feet of
climbing, with one very exciting improvement -- 50+ foot climbing walls!
Not only will we be the tallest gym in Arizona, but we will have climbing
for EVERYONE. With numerous top-ropes, lead climbing, and
substantial bouldering, our facility will eventually have more than 12,000 square feet of
total climbing surface.
Opening day, when it FINALLY comes, will be the best
party in town! Definitely something you're not going to want to
miss! Take the
BVCC Poll if you're interested in
attending, and we will keep you up-to-date on our progress! We
encourage you to leave your suggestions and ideas to let us know what YOU
would like to see at the new facility!

What will the climbing wall be like? We are
currently working with 2 different companies, and the wall will be a
combination of surfaces and designs from
Eldorado Climbing Company,
Walltopia USA &
Entres Prises USA. 3-D models will be available for the public early
next year. The climbing area will have numerous exciting
features, such as arches, cracks, lead caves and overhanging climbing, as
well as auto-belay systems (incase you forget your partner), training
areas for beginners, and lead climbing throughout the center.
Additionally, you will be able to experience indoor climbing on a number
of different types of climbing holds from
E-Grips,
Megahold,
Contact Climbing, and others innovative climbing companies!
What else can we do at the gym? Membership at the gym will
include access to the fitness area, complete with free-weights, machines,
and bikes.
ProFitness Arizona will be offering Less Mills group fitness programs,
and we will also hold Spin and Yoga classes for our members, and
additional cross-training activities such as Brazilian Capoeira. A
mezzanine overlooking the climbing area will also be available for
birthday parties and gatherings. Partnerships and local
participation with other outdoor adventure groups will certainly increase
your opportunities to try new, exciting activities!
One Day Adventures, of Scottsdale, Arizona, will be operating an
additional 3-level high-adventure facility. This area will be
dedicated to indoor high ropes course activities, gladiator challenges,
and numerous other high-adventure activities completely unique to anything
you have ever seen or experienced! This is just the beginning of
what you can expect to find at the Buena Vista Climbing Gym!!!
